Feagal was
born on Oct. 2, 1942 to a large family living in the Farmington
River Valley of Unionville, Connecticut. Hunting, Fishing, Music,
Crafts, and Family Responsibilities were the order of the day. His appeal to the arts
began as a child longing to practice music, paint, and build as the
older guys did. It was not too long (about the 6th) grade
a Connecticut Bus Driver gave an older brother a trumpet and Feagal
was off and practicing daily. That trumpet led to Bands,
Symphonies, Choruses, Conducting, Painting, Building, and a
magnificent art studio of the Stradivarius Vintage.
As an apprentice Glazier in 1961 his first assignment was to work
mixing the Thiokol to install and seal the Stained Glass Windows
for St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Hartford Ct. They were designed by
the French Artist Jean Barillet of Paris, the windows are 67 feet high and 13 1/2
feet wide. Here Feagal learned how to make the paper hat that the
artist wore each day and fit perfectly.
This Cathedral was a magnificent inspiration for Feagal. Asked one
day by Monsignor Kennedy, "What are you doing with that large
Mixing Paddle?” Feagal answered, "Your Grace, I am building a
Cathedral".
